Another painting of #HeatonPark with a limited colour palette.

After a visit to Heaton Park a few weeks ago the place still inspires me.  This time I am using a limited palette of only seven colours and white. Hopefully this will allow the painting to achieve a greater balance with easy colour harmonies. It is supposed to make you think about the tone and composition.
I can use warm and cool colours to achieve contrast rather than adding more colour.

It's said that Monet sometimes only used about three colours; a warm and cool of each, to achieve his masterpieces. These were;
  • Cadmium Yellow Lt. - Cool (toward green) opaque light yellow
  • Cadmium Yellow Med. - Warm opaque yellow
  • Cadmium Red Lt. - Warm (toward orange) opaque light red
  • Alizarin Permanent - Cool (toward blue) transparent red
  • Ultramarine Blue - Warm (toward red) transparent blue
  • Coerulean Blue - Cool (toward green) semi-transparent blue
  • Flake  white                                                                                                                                            Not sure if this will work but it will force me to think about what I want to achieve. I painted in my usual way, as shown above, using a palette knife and hope that my painting works.       Quite pleased with it and like the idea of changing my colour palette now and again.

I am not really into arts, but I really appreciate the beauty of this painting! Though how I wish you could have made it bigger, I am satisfied with this! If you are planning g to have it sold I am sure that more and more people will be interested to buy it because it's indeed a good painting in the first place. The colors you selected for this project are great. How I wish I have this talented hand of your too!
