Really pleased. Came back from a short holiday and found out that my #drawing had been chosen as part of the exhibition from over 800 #digital #paintings  submitted at #mDAC  2016

​Palo Alto: At the heart of Silicon Valley you expect to find people sweating over a computer to create yet another game changing idea. But you wouldn’t expect to see them obsessing over the creation of the latest piece of fine art. Or would you? Because that’s exactly what will be happening on the weekend of August 12- 14 when the MobileArt Academyin partnership with the city of Palo Alto’s Art Center bring on their fourth annual Mobile Digital Art & Creativity (mDAC) Summit.
 Held at the Palo Alto Art Center in Palo Alto, this unique event brings artists, app developers, printers and photographers together in a weekend long festival celebrating the best of the best mobile digital painters and photographers in the world.
 “We have officially left the Information Age and entered the Experience Age,” said Sumit Vishwakarma, tech visionary who is a computer engineer by day as well as a well-known mobile artist and outspoken critic of those who use their devices to consume. “Our devices give every man on earth the chance to experience the joy of creativity. It’s no longer just the rich or selected few who can become artists – it is at the fingertips of all of us,” said Vishwakarma who founded Mobile Art Academy four years ago and has grown it into a popular platform for mobile digital art and photography with a Facebook page that has become the meeting place for mobile artists and photographers from all over the world.
 The mDAC Summit opens with an exhibition of the best of the best mobile digital painting, photography and photographic collage curated by the Mobile Art Academy and judged by some of the foremost digital painters and photographers in the world who will be faced with over 1,000 entries from which they will have to select the top one hundred works which will be printed, mounted and displayed. The jury panel consists of five internationally acclaimed digital mobile painters and photographers who are listed on the mDAC website with brief biographies for each.
 The two-day conference includes masterclasses and break-out sessions from experts in each of the major art apps: Procreate, ArtRage, Sketchbook Pro, Adobe Draw and Adobe Sketch, Paper 53, Sketch Club, Snapseed, VSCO and iColorama.. And for those who love music, this year’s conference includes a special concert performance of John Ireland’s classical music where, instead of being told to turn OFF their mobile devices, the audience is asked to turn them ON to paint on their mobile devices and respond to what they hear using a cloud sharing mobile app that tracks the real-time emotional response of each member of the audience.
 So, yes Virginia, the Experience Age is really here. And the folks at Mobile Art Academy plan to make that a reality at their upcoming mDAC 2016.
